Historical Note: The Liquor Control Commission was created in 1934 to administer acts relating to the manufacture, sale, and distribution of liquor in Illinois (L. 1933, 2d Spec. Sess., p. 56). The three-member commission is appointed by the Governor. The commission and its staff issue and revoke licenses to manufacture, import, distribute, and sell liquor; fix standards of manufacture; recommend rules and regulations for the distribution and sale of liquor at the local level; hear and determine appeals; and analyze laws outside Illinois in order to suggest improved legislation.
