Historical Note: The Commission on Police Relations with Minority Groups was created by the General Assembly in 1967 to study all aspects of the problems of the police and other peace officers in their relations with minority groups and make recommendations for legislation as it considered necessary. It was composed of five members of the House appointed by the Speaker, five members of the Senate appointed by the president pro tempore, and five public members appointed by the Governor. The commission was to make its final report to the General Assembly by February 1, 1969 and then pass from existence on July 1, 1969 (L. 1967, pp. 4130-4131).
