Historical Note: The Food, Drug, Cosmetic and Pesticide Laws Study Commission was created by the General Assembly in 1969 to make a a thorough study of the laws and decisions pertaining to food, drugs, cosmetics, and pesticide and the enforcement thereof and to make recommendations for revising legislation and coordinating administrative agencies in order to accomplish changes deemed necessary. It was composed of five members of the House appointed by the Speaker, five members of the Senate appointed by the president pro tempore, and five public members appointed by the Governor. The commission was to make its final report to the General Assembly by February 1, 1971 and then it was to expire on July 1, 1971 (P.A. 76-784, pp. 1610-1611).
