Historical Note: The Zoning Laws Study Commission was created by the General Assembly in 1969 to study existing zoning legislation with a view towards revising laws to better meet practical needs. It was composed of five members of the House, five members of the Senate, and four public members, all appointed by the legislative leadership. The commission was to report its findings to the General Assembly by February 1, 1971 and then it was to expire on July 1, 1971 (P.A. 76-768, pp. 1589-1590).
