Historical Note: The Commission to Study Full Value Assessment Laws and Tax Rate Limitations was crated by the General Assembly in 1965 to make a thorough study of present property tax rate limitations under existing laws and to consider altering those limits. It further was to study property valuations made by the various counties and to consider an equalization process between counties. The commission was composed of two members of the Senate and two members of the House, appointed respectively by the president pro tempore and the Speaker, and two members appointed by the Governor. It was to make its report to the General Assembly by February 1, 1967 (L. 1965, pp. 3097-3098). It failed to meet this deadline however and its life was extended to July 1, 1969 (L. 1967, p. 4237).
