State Property Insurance Study Commission - RG 524 | Illinois State Archives

Name: State Property Insurance Study Commission - RG 524

Historical Note: The State Property Insurance Study Commission was created by the General Assembly in 1969 to study any preferences between the state being a self-insurer of state-owned real and personal property as apposed to purchasing insurance coverage from commercial insurers. It was composed of three House and Senate leadership. The commission was to make its report by February 15, 1971 (P.A. 76-776, pp. 1599-1600). It failed to meet this deadline however and its life was extended until July 1, 1973 (P.A. 77-1533, p. 2817).
