Scope and Contents: Files consist mostly of copies of monthly reports that include information on prisoner demographics, personnel data, medical data, inmate work crews, inspections of prison conditions, employee and inmate disciplinary and grievance reports, inmate management, security systems checks and drills (e.g., escape drills, severe weather), statements of prison staff firearms qualifications, and listings of inmate deaths or escapes since the prison’s opening in October 1980. Warden and inmate bulletins, emergency removals from prison cells, employee training programs, staff meeting minutes, health services, and sexual assault incidents are also occasionally reported. Other files, memoranda, and correspondence concern issues such as personnel matters; Administrative Review Board hearings; annual certification of the prison by the American Correctional Association; prison objectives and mission statement; inmate therapeutic restraints; lockdowns; administrative detentions of inmates; incident reports; health inspections; and legal affairs.
